Its well known that acne, whilst being perceived as an outer problem, can affect sufferers deeply on the inside too.
Acne is basically an inflammation of the sebaceous glands and hair follicles. No one really knows what causes it but the vast majority of us will have the pleasure of experiencing it at some point in our lives.
There are many cures and regimes that can lessen the effects and in some cases clear it completely. But what about those people who cant find the correct regime for their skin or who just feel acne is something they will grow out of in time.
The psychological effects can be huge. The acne may only be slight but it is not uncommon for the sufferer to enlarge the problem in their minds.
What is in fact a mere pimple, visible only to onlookers if they are up close, can, in the sufferers mind, be a huge spot impossible to miss by other people.
This illusion is just the beginning for the teenage or adult sufferer. Once that way of thinking is instilled, it becomes a habit and from then on any acne breakout becomes a disaster. Paranoia grows with the feeling that everyone is looking and pointing at your spots.
This can transform into a bigger psychological problem as self-esteem plummets and confidence in oneself is lost. All this because of one or two little red spots.
Its vitally important not to let your mind take over. It is a human trait to think the worst and the more we think about something the more ingrained into our psyche it becomes. Problems and worries expand the more we dwell on them.
Of course one way to deal with the problem is to tackle the acne itself through any number of cures and treatments. But it is possible that even when the physical problem disappears a mental residue is left behind leading to a lack of self confidence in later life.
Take the chance now to realise that you and only you can control what goes on in your head. Realise that it is only your outer shell that you are worrying over and no one can affect the real you inside.
Acne is a skin condition and, lets be honest, to spend a lot of time worrying and dwelling over your skin is at best shallow and at worst incredibly vain. If you cant treat it, hold your head up high and realise that people arent laughing at you behind your back and even if they are theyre merely projecting their own insecurities onto you.
Acne is a condition of the outer you, dont let it affect your self-esteem and confidence – you have a good deal more important things to be getting on with.

Acne is usually known as pimples or zits. It is affects almost everyone. Most people experience acne at the start of their teenage years and it may continue till their 40s. It is not life threatening but it is so unflattering. It can occur on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and even the upper arms. Acne can be severe and if not treated properly can lead to serious and permanent scarring.

Acne usually occurs in different forms for a lot of people. For some people, they experience mild acne either in size or quantity while for some other people this is not the case. They are literally attacked by acne of large proportion and quantity that it makes it impossible for them to venture out of their house. They miss out of so many things because they feel so unattractive and are practically depressed by the sight of other people who are their age mate (or not!)that have clear and smooth skin. It is said that acne is not life threatening but it can cause emotional trauma for some people.

Acne can be effectively prevented and treated. To do that you have to know all about acne to be able to treat it effectively. Acne manifests in different ways and there are different acne treatments for the different types. This article is written to help you to be able to identify the different types of acne that you may observe. This would help you obtain the best acne treatment for the acne that you have identified that you have as this is essential in fighting acne.

Acne is usually classified as either Inflammatory or Non-inflammatory. Acne begins with a basic lesion known as a comedo. The comedo is an enlarged hair follicle that is plugged with oil and bacteria. It usually lurks beneath the surface of your skin waiting for the right conditions before it appears as the inflamed lesion that you hate.

Inflammatory acne consists of two types:
1. Closed Comedo: This is also known as whitehead. It is a sebaceous follicle that is plugged with sebum, dead cells from inside the sebaceous follicle and bacteria that stays below the surface of the skin.

2. Open Comedo: This is just like the closed comedo but in its case the plugged follicle enlarges and pushes through the surface of the skin. It is also known as blackhead due to its dark appearance which is as a result of a buildup of melanin and not dirt contrary to some peoples belief.

It is important that you note that you MUST not squeeze or pick open either a closed or open comedo unless it is done by a dermatologist under sterile conditions.

Non-inflammatory acne consists of four types:

1. Papule: This is the mildest form of inflammatory acne, it appears on the skin as a small (5 millimetres or less), firm pink bump. It can be tender to touch and it has a sandpaper feel when you touch a group of very small papules and microcomedones.

2. Pustule: This is a dome-shaped like fragile lesion (a lesion is a physical change in body tissue caused by an injury or a disease. It may be internal or external e.g. acne) that contains pus which is a mixture of white blood cells, dead skin cells and bacteria. It is usually small like the papules. It forms over a sebaceous follicle that has a hair in the centre; its inflammation is generally caused by chemical irritation from sebum components like fatty free acids. Pustules that heal without progressing to a cyst usually leave no scars.

3. Nodule or Cyst: A NODULE is a solid, dome-shaped or irregularly shaped lesion that is characterized by swelling. It extends into deeper layers of the skin, is painful and leaves scars. It may persist for weeks or months. A CYST however is a sac like lesion that usually contains liquid or semi-liquid material that is made up of white blood cells, dead cells and bacteria. It is larger than a pustule, extends into the deep layers of the skin, may be painful, inflamed and can leave scars.
Nodules and cysts can occur together and may require treatment with isotretinion. However you need to see your dermatologist to prescribe the acne treatment that would be suitable for you.

4. Acne conglobata: It is a rare but serious form of inflammatory acne that develops primarily on the back, buttocks (or butt) and chest. There may be severe bacterial infection when it is present.

I sincerely hope that this article helps you identify the acne that you have and helps you find the most appropriate treatment so that you can have that acne free skin that you desire.

Adult acne is a form of common acne that can occur to people over 30 years of age. It is not uncommon for people who had no acne as a young person to found that they are having breakouts.

Acne appearance in an adult could have a number of causes.

The following are seven causes of adult acne:

1. Frequently the acne that one had as a teenager resurfaces later in adulthood. It is not always obvious why this occurs, but it is one reason for acne presence in adults.

2. In women, acne often reappears during pregnancy. This could also be true in the case of women during their menstrual period.

3. Something unusual is going on. It is smart idea to talk to a dermatologist or your family physician.

More possible causes of adult acne:

4. Particular medications can provoke acne. These medications include anabolic steroids, lithium, anti-tuberculosis drugs rifampin and isoniazid, anti-epileptic drugs and medications that contain iodine.

5. Constant physical pressure on the skin. Whether wearing a helmet or carrying a backpack, such pressure against the skin can cause breakouts.

6. Chlorinated industrial chemicals are another possible cause. Working in particular types of industrial environments can cause acne-like symptoms or even chloracne – a job-related skin disorder caused by constant exposure to chemicals, such as chlorinated dioxins.

7. Metabolic changes are yet another cause of adult acne. With changes in the hormonal balance of the body, such as those present during menstruation or pregnancy can cause acne in adults./pbr

How To Cure Acne

Many people feel acne is impossible to get rid off. With the internet being choke-full of misleading information from so called experts entertaining various acne causes meant to sell their own products, it comes as no surprise people are being put off and confused. They all wonder if the acne comes from their parents, from eating sweets, from using too much makeup, from squeezing the spots and a host of other more or less preposterous ideas. We are now going to cover the real top 5 factors that would aggravate any acne and put this debate to rest once and for all. To begin with we need a clear understanding of what acne is and how does it come about. You start producing a hormone named testosterone around the time you start sprouting body hair. Testosterone tells certain glands in your skin, to produce an oily secretion called sebum. Some peoples glands seem to go wild when told to get going by testosterone. If you have acne, it does mean you have abnormal levels of testosterone. It’s just that your skin reacts abnormally to this hormone. This will eventually correct itself and is not going to go on all your life. No one can tell you when, although most teenagers will grow out of their acne troubles by their late teens. The first factor we are going to look into is the stress factor. While stress in itself does not cause acne, being stressed causes the production of hormones, such as cortisol, which can aggravate acne. Many people noticed how their spots flared due to stress. Feeling anxious about your job interview or that date coming up, may be responsible for this flare up, so make an effort to relax, both physically and mentally. Click Here For Acne Cure Naturally Instant Access! There is indeed truth behind the genetic factors causing acne yet that is still just a mitigating factor and not a cause in itself. There are cases where the parents suffered from severe cases of acne and that may influence the acne development for the children yet it does not mean if your parents had acne you will also get it. It is an aggravating factor nevertheless. The medications factor is often overlooked or misunderstood by many people. Steroids (like those used by body builders and other athletes), antidepressants, certain contraceptive agents and other products containing testosterone have a grave influence on the acne development. Refrain from heavy use of cosmetic products or at the very least carefully look into the products you are buying. Using greasy skin care products, oily cosmetics and certain moisturizers, foundation and pomades may aggravate acne. Watch out for lanolin, petrolatum, vegetable oils, butyl stearate, lauryl alcohol and oleic acid. Click Here For Acne Cure Naturally Instant Access! Don’t underestimate the environmental factors when you look into possible remedies for your acne. High humidity may cause the swelling of the skin further aggravating your condition while pressure from headbands and chin straps will not help your spots either. Your diet has an influence too especially foods you may be allergic or slightly allergic to. As you can see, many of the so-called acne causes are merely aggravating factors. Stress, genetics, medications, cosmetics or your environment will not cause you acne but will seriously impede your chances of getting rid of this pest. Once you start getting your facts right you will boost your confidence and know exactly what you have to do to get you fresh and cleaned in no time at all. How To Get Rid Of Pimples , A Guide To The Untold Secrets

How to get rid of pimples? At any point of time this question plagues the minds of most teenagers around the world. Because on it hinges other supremely vital issues like Do I get to be the next Prom Queen? or Will that new hunk in the basketball team ask me out for a date?

Ways to Freedom from a Pimply Skin

Just introduce the topic of pimples in any gathering and you will be flooded with tips, ranging from the very simple, which are actually quite rare, to some really preposterous ones. But unknown to many, you really do not need to do much to get rid of pimples. And the foremost advice that most well meaning people will tender is never ever to poke and prod at a pimple. This will only lead to it swelling and redness and there are chances that you will end up with permanent marks.

However, the golden advice regarding pimple remedies is regular cleansing of the facial skin. And the best way to go about this is to wash your face 2-3 times a day and preferably use a mild, fragrance-free (the scintillating scents are actually chemicals, and harmful ones at that) soap.

Another oft-quoted advice is to steer clear of oily and fatty foods. And the chocolates and the burgers too, tempting they may be. You should remember that a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables along with copious amounts of water is ideal to cure pimples.

An exfoliating routine is also quite a handy treatment to remove pimple or control their emergence. A thorough scrubbing of your body and facial skin will remove the dead skin cells that would have otherwise bunged the skin pores and led to ungainly whiteheads, spots and acne.

As you have realized from the pimple treatment tips, any chemical on the skin is a definite no-no. But what about make up? That will make your puffy eyes and mottled appearance vanish in an instant. Go in for make up by all means but do take care to remove it at the end of the day.

Homemade Tips To Cure Pimples

These days people are leaning more and more towards natural remedys and this goes for pimple cures also. Thus when that gala party is only a few days away you will usually find the pimple-plagued girls and women raiding the kitchen shelves.

They know that cucumber paste left on the pimples overnight is a great cure, as is a facial mask made from nutmeg and milk. Dont throw away the orange peelings for a paste of it on the pimples is a good cure. You can also settle in for a bit of vinegar on a cotton ball to be wiped on the pimples.

As regards getting rid of pimples naturally, you have an umpteen number of choices: tepid salty water, egg whites, garlic and ice cubes.

Now that you know how to cure and prevent pimples, theres no stopping you from getting back that clear, blemish-free complexion of your teenage days./pbr

Acne And Its Prevention

Today, the earth is covered with more dust and pollutants than the fresh air that we need to breathe. This huge amount of dust and imbalance in the physical environment leads to a number of irritating skin problems. In general, although there is no particular age when skin troubles may begin, research reveals that these problems are most common with teenagers. The age of adolescence is the first victim of an ample variety of skin troubles. Among such culprits affecting skin health, acne is most common. Acne and pimples affect most teenagers. Lot of them are curious to know the ways-out and ideas to cope up with the acne trouble on the whole.

Dermatologists classify several types of acne. They are different in nature and the methods to prevent them are also different. Acne is an outcome of the blocking of skin pores due to excessive secretion of sebum. The sebum, which is a kind of oil, blocks the pores and bacteria, begins to develop. There are different types of acne – sometimes they are the blackheads and sometimes, whiteheads. However, overall the acne is generally of two kinds. They are inflammatory and non-inflammatory. The microcomedones that are the results of sebum accumulation often cause skin blemishes that are blackheads and the whiteheads. Paining are the inflammatory acnes like papule, pustule, nodule, cyst and milia. Whatever cause they may come of, they are really affecting for the skin and can become really dangerous if avoided for a long time. In addition to this, we, from the very beginning of such possibility of an attack of acne, start taking care of our skin and adopt the preventive measures as well.

Apart from the dust and pollution, our regular food habits and life style are also responsible for acne trouble. It is perhaps the most common skin problem for all the teenagers and some middle aged too. However, the general consciousness regarding the same can save us from the attack of acne into our skin. To avoid the acne from breaking out, you can follow some tips to check it.

First, it is very important that you consume at least three liters of water everyday. In addition to this, add a plenty of green vegetables and fruits into your regular diet. This acne likes to attack the oily skins most, so if you have the same texture of skin then try to keep your skin oil free as much as possible. Dry skins, on the other hand are not free from this nagging trouble; in this case it is important to maintain the general moisture of the skin and avoid using a soap that is harsh in nature. Do not squeeze or pick the acnes as this only make the condition graver. Use only clean towels and pillow covers, because if they are dirty or unclean they can shelter bacteria there. Besides, do not forget or feel tired to wash your make up before going to sleep. Above all, lead a healthy and stress less life; because it is most important to keep you free from all those skin hazards.br

Oil Me Up

Ever since the days of Cleopatra, humans have been obsessed with beauty. A clear complexion speaks a wealth about you: it gives the instant impression of inner health and makes you look clean. But how easy is it to maintain a glowing complexion when the air is filled with pollutants, the food we eat is largely processed, and most skincare products are filled with chemicals that are advertised as being youth giving but in reality are probably doing us no good whatsoever.

The answer, is oil.

Natural oils can work wonders for skin health and not only do they help regulate your sebaceous glands, but some of them contain anti-aging properties that could put many high end cosmetic companies out of business – and theyre a lot less expensive. Ideally you want to avoid lathering chip fat on your face, but feed it with cold-pressed organic oils like sweet almond, rose hip or avocado. Sounds like a great salad dressing (which it probably is), but the beauty of using oil as skincare, is that not only will it remove the most stubborn waterproof mascara within seconds, but it can help keep your cheeks, chin and neck perfectly plump while soothing the delicate eye area – all in one swipe!

Of course, before you head to the health food shop and part with your hard earned cash (natural oils range between $4.50 – $40), glowing skin relies on using the right oil. Teenagers with pimple-prone skin should steer clear of avocado, macadamia or hemp oil and stick to lighter oils with naturally healing elements, like sweet almond. Those with mature skin or people wanting to reduce stretchmarks will benefit from using a combination of blends to moisturize and reduce redness at the same time. All you need to do is work out which oil is most beneficial for your skin type and start looking forward to regaining your natural beauty…

Jojoba Oil
Best for: Problem Skin
Jojoba (pronounced yo-hoba) is the closest oil to our own natural sebum which means it absorbs really well and is ideal for people with acne. Because of its natural properties, jojoba can help to clear pores by removing grime, leaving your face feeling super soft and pimple free. Essential oils can be added to create a powerful anti-acne blend, but even used alone, this oil can help treat the most troublesome skin types due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Sweet Almond Oil
Best for: Everyday Moisturizer
Used by many massage therapists as a carrier oil, almond oil is fairly light and absorbs beautifully into the skin. It can be used as an all-over body moisturizer or purely on the face alone. Pressed from the almond kernel, this nut oil has no aroma but is filled with natural anti-inflammatory and anti-itching properties. If your skin is classed as combination or normal, this is the one for you.

Rose hip Oil
Best for: Anti-aging
Hailed for its anti-aging properties, rose hip is so much more that that. Just a couple of drops of this youth potion can help reduce wrinkles and after a few weeks of using it every day, you should begin to see some plumping of the skin. Great for reducing scars and stretch marks, rose hip could be described as the mother oil, as its great for mums – and grandmums!

Avocado oil
Best for: Eczema and Mature Skin
Eating avocado is well known to provide the body rich essential fatty acids that can help to keep skin looking healthy and young. But the oil itself is great for regenerating the skin and can soften even the toughest elbows and knees! The anti-itch properties make it a hit for those with eczema and psoriasis and its rich texture make it perfect for combating the signs of aging.

The beauty of oils is they can turn an everyday facial routine into a day spa experience, simply by adding a few drops of essential oil which are full of skin-boosting properties. (A general guideline for blends is 1 drop of essential oil per 4ml of carrier oil.) Weve put together some of our fave blends so why not treat yourself to a steam facial and finish off with a natural oil moisturizer that will last for ages and have your friends wondering how come you look so good…

Dry/Mature skin
Avocado/Rose hip
Blend with: Frankincense, geranium, sandalwood, rose

Acne/blackheads
Sweet almond oil/jojoba
Blend with: Ylang ylang, tangerine, sandalwood, lemon

Eczema/psoriasis
Avocado/hemp
Blend with: Sandalwood, lavender, rosemary, patchouli

Burns
Sweet almond
Blend with: Lavender, frankincense, tea tree, sandalwood, Neroli

Itching
Sweet almond/jojoba
Blend with: Patchouli, myrrh, lemongrass/citronella

Scarring/stretch marks
Rose hip
Blend with: Palmarosa, frankincense, German chamomile, everlasting, myrrh

Knowing that oil doesnt necessarily create blemishes but can actually help get rid of them can change your life, and finally discovering an anti-aging treatment that doesnt cost the earth or involve surgery can be liberating for both your skin and your wallet!

Of course dont just believe what we say, try using a natural oil on its own, or create one of the blends above that suits your skin type. After 12 weeks of use look in the mirror and see if you notice a difference? Depending on your skin to start with, you could well be amazed at the results.

Natural beauty – its oil in a days work…

When the orderly processes are interrupted, mutations in DNA appear, leading to cancer. Carcinogenesis is caused by the mutation of the genetic material, which destroys the balance between proliferation and death cells. This is reason why the acne treatment and carcinogenesis are connected and acne treatment is so important.

X-ray acne treatment against carcinogenesis

Studies are showing that carcinogenesis rates are higher in the young people (under 20 years old); reports are giving an estimation of relative risk for tumors that is not an alarm for now. Specialists are investigating available records to investigate the links between acne treatment and carcinogenesis; are the links between the use of topical benzoyl peroxide for acne and malignant melanoma? Studies show no significant association between the acne treatment and carcinogenesis if the patients use benzoyl peroxide, no occurrence of malignant melanoma and acne.

Some specialists are also reporting olfactory disturbances after acne treatment. This occurs when the patient uses isotretinoin; the examination of the nose is showing that there are no pathological findings. The exams excluded a tumor or a lesion as acne treatment consequence. Taste and smell exams showed that there is no major changes cause by the acne treatments and carcinognesis is not there.

An important precaution can be taken to avoid can treatment unhealthy consequences: the patients must change the cosmetics they use. All cosmetic must be oil free; the patients face will be red or scaly during the first weeks of treatment; it will be difficult to use foundation, eye shadow or blush. Small open comedones can appear too; hairstyling products must be used with prudence, because the skin along the hairline can be burned. During the acne treatment, the products labeled as non comedogenic are the best, but even those products can cause acne in some patients.

After the acne outbreak, the macule can appear, and the skin will be temporarily redder. The red mark will disappear or fade in two to six moths after the treatment. Patient must also be treated even after the acne is cured to prevent future acne. Dermatologists are also recommending vanishing formula, which is a white cream that vanishes from the skin. There are tinted formulas that look like foundation make-up and help to mask acne.br
