The blocked skin pores and deeper inflammations result in acne. Acne can form on chest, shoulders, upper arms, back, and neck as well. Acne is usually suffered by teenagers, but it is not limited to any age group. Many adults in their 20s and even 40s have reported to be its victims. Although, the life of the victim is not at risk due to acne, but it has been reported to be the cause of some suicides as the humiliation of the acne victims sometimes gets so high that the sufferers can’t tolerate. If acne is severe, it can leave permanent scarring. If acne is mild, there is still a possibility of scarring, of the low severity though. Why Acne Appears?

Although there is not an alone factor that makes acne appear on your skin, what is seen as the No. 1 reason of acne formation is the excessive production of oil called sebum by sebaceous glands, the oil producing glands under the skin, during adolescence.

The adrenal glands of both males and females produce such hormones that arouse the sebaceous glands to produce excessive sebum.

Although the sebum lubricates and protects the skin by getting secreted through openings in the skin, but dead skin cells near the openings get mixed with sebum and block the apertures. As a result, skin gets a build up of oil just under it and bacteria love it. They get in huge number in their favorite environment and inflame the tissues. Pimple is the result of this very inflammation if happens close to the skin surface. A whitehead is the result of the breakout of sebum onto the skin surface. The same surfaced sebum in the form of a whitehead, if gets oxidized, it changes its color from white to black, and it is called blackhead.

During the years of adolescence, children are at greater risk for outbreaks of acne, when the sebaceous glands in the body start producing excess sebum (skin oil that can resemble grease). Adding to the problem, the body expels the dead skin cells constantly – and some people have "sticky" skin cells that normally do not show – they just remain attached to the skin. In people who have acne, these skin cells mix with excess oil and clog hair follicles. The most common myths are many myths floating around about what causes acne. We will fix some now. – The soil does not cause acne – A black dirt may seem to connect one of your pores, but not the cause. – The sebum and skin cells are mixed and sometimes rise to the pore. But the real cause is still deep in the pores. – Enjoy your chocolate and French fries. Indulging in these favorites will not increase sebum production in the skin. – Some of you have said that sexual activity or masturbation can cause acne. Not true. Who Gets more acne? While both boys and girls can get acne – is more likely to be worse in boys because their bodies produce more skin oils. Interestingly, the immune system may also come into play – which are particularly sensitive to bacteria that get trapped in hair follicles. What makes acne worse? – When using makeup, tanning products or hair products that contain oil – can be added to clogged pores problem. – Being under stress – as applying to schools, or struggling with grades, or even dating pressures – can help remove the acne. – In the period of a little girl, hormone levels may create more sebum in the skin, which can worsen the outbreak. – And, beware of the sun – not only can it damage the skin and cause premature aging – can also cause pimples. While keeping your skin clean is an important part of treatment, remember to be gentle – no hard scrubbing, without reaping or cutting. You can survive acne.
