Can you imagine going from teenage acne to adult and having to endure the shame of it all for twenty years? Well that was the case with me. From the age of 13 to age 33 I was embarrassed about the way my skin looked.
I tried everything, from high end skin care, home remedies, to low end skin care. Always on the search for a way to clear my acne. After many dollars spent and time consumed, I thought I would turn to something natural.
Most skin care products are made with mineral oil, paraffin, beeswax, candelilla wax, carnauba wax, lanolin, petrolatum, acetone, borax, isopropyl alcohol, sd 40 alcohol and ethyl alcohol.
-Mineral oil-can accelerate free radicals damage to skin speeding up aging process, attract dirt
-Waxes-clog pores, can cause enlarged pores over time.
-Lanolin-can cause allergic reactions, enlarges pores
-Petrolatum-suffocates the pores
-Acetone-extremely toxic, dehydrate skin while speeding up aging process
-Borax-rapidly absorb into the skin, warning from American Medical Association
-Alcohols-dissolves body’s own moisturizers and strips skin of protection, destroys skin PH balance
When I found out the ingredients in most skin care products could be the culprit, I began to search for products that have no or very little of the things listed above. I found out my skin and hair did very well with products that had no petroleum, no lanolin, no beeswax, no harsh chemicals. I needed products that were as close to their natural state as possible. This just happens to be aloe vera.
Aloe vera has over 200 species. Aloe Vera Barbadensis Miller is the best of all aloe. Better yet, it was best for my skin and still is. Try aloe vera products that has as few of the ingredients listed above. I think you will be amazed at your results.
